// Four problems

Time. Fit. Scale. Cost.

Time

Clear RFIs. Earlier answers.

Instead of: Waiting on answers. US time zone Project Managers write proactive, clear RFIs.

Fit

Shop-specific.

Instead of: Drawings that argue with your shop. Bolts, equipment, welds and paint profiles matched.

Scale

Elastic capacity.

Instead of: A backlog bigger than your bench. Add detailing support when project volume or deadlines call for it.

Cost

Flexible project support.

Instead of: Overhead for every new hire. Add project-specific support without making a permanent staffing commitment.

// Know the language

Steel detailing, decoded.

T01Anchor rod plan
Locates and details anchor rods and embeds for the foundation contractor. It must be right before concrete is poured.
T02Erection plan
Shows piece marks and locations so the erector can set steel in sequence.
T03Shop drawing
Piece-level fabrication details: dimensions, holes, cuts, welds and connections.
T04RFI
A formal request to settle a conflict or gap in the contract documents.
T05LOD 400
A model detailed enough to fabricate from, including connections and fasteners.
T06DSTV (NC1)
The standard file format that drives CNC drill lines, saws and coping machines.
// Field notes

Know-how from the desk.

N01Five things to verify on an anchor rod plan before the pour
Match locations and projections to the foundation drawings. Confirm rod diameter and grade against the specifications. Check projection against base plate, grout and nut engagement. Decide whether setting templates are needed. Confirm the plan reflects OSHA Subpart R, which generally requires each column to be anchored by at least four anchor rods, with limited exceptions.
N02How to write an RFI that gets answered the first time
Cite the sheet and detail. State the conflict in one sentence. Propose a resolution so the engineer only has to confirm. Attach a sketch and give a needed-by date.
N03SDS2 or Tekla: which is right for your shop?
Both produce fabrication-level models and CNC data. The choice depends on your equipment integration, your team's workflow and the project type. We work in both, so the model follows your shop.
N04What LOD 400 really means for your shop
As defined in the BIMForum LOD Specification, LOD 400 is a model accurate enough for fabrication: members, connections, fasteners and assemblies. Your shop builds from the model, not interprets it.
N05The approval cycle without the wait
Submit complete packages, anticipate comments, and track every status: approved, approved as noted, or revise and resubmit. Fast turnaround keeps release for fabrication on schedule.
N06A DSTV pre-flight checklist
Verify profile and material, hole positions and sizes, copes and cuts, piece marks and units. Run a first piece, then release the batch.
// Questions fabricators ask

Straight answers.

Q01Which software do you detail in?
SDS2 and Tekla Structures, with LOD 400 models and connections configured inside the model. We also work with Revit, AutoCAD and Advance Steel for coordination and legacy files.
Q02Will you match my shop standards?
Yes. We map every model to your bolt preferences, equipment setups, weld practices and paint profiles.
Q03What files do I receive?
Anchor rod plans, erection plans, piece-mark shop drawings, bolt and material lists, plus DSTV, plate DXF, XML and KSS data.
Q04How do RFIs work across time zones?
Communication and RFI routing are agreed at kickoff and managed against the project schedule.
Q05Can you handle very large projects?
We assess each project against its scope, schedule, deliverables, and available resources before confirming fit.
Q06Which standards do you follow?
We work to the applicable contract documents, project specifications, and agreed shop standards. Design codes and regulatory requirements vary by project and jurisdiction.
Q07What do you need to quote?
Contract drawings, specifications and addenda, plus your deadline. We flag scope gaps before you commit to a number.
Q08How do I get started?
Send the contract set. A project manager reviews your scope and comes back with a plan.
